Advice on Choosing a Place For That First
Face to Face Date
A first date is always an exciting event and finding the right
place for a first date can make all the difference. For some
people, a cozy bar might be the place for a first date, while
for others, a fine restaurant is the place to go. The perfect
place for the first dinner, of course, always depends on the
taste and likes of the participants, but there a few common
rules that could help any first date to become a success.
Some of the first tips that are good advice when choosing that
first place for a first face to face date is to choose a
setting that makes both participants feel comfortable and is
more low key. Choosing a high style restaurant where etiquette
is on the order every minute of the dinner and clothes need to
be stylish in and expensive might be bad. One might not feel
good in his or her skin and the date might feel very stiff and
awkward. Generally, an informal setting is what should be
chosen and the best way to choose is by discussing the issue
with the partner. If both partners like the place, then both
partners might feel more comfortable. Sometimes a first face to
face date is best set in a local coffee shop, a very informal,
everyday location that talking while sitting in a comfy chair
by a fireplace makes it a lot easier. Discussing and choosing a
place together also prevents any problems that one might have
with the food offered in the place or the locality or even the
people that attend.
Another good tip for a first date is to stay clear of busy,
buzzing and loud places. The more people, the bigger the event
or the louder the place, the less chance to talk and get known
to the other one. In busy places, actions and things that are
happening around them often distract people. It is hard to have
a good conversation with so much distraction. The same goes for
loud places. If one is not able to hear what the other one
said, it will make for a very poor conversation. First dates
should be in places that are cozy, comfortable to be in and at
a normal or low noise level with the least amount of
distractions. Some people prefer a walk in the park; others may
prefer a meeting in a coffee shop or over a low key lunch or
dinner. By the way, a movie theater makes for a bad first
place, since there is almost no time to talk to each other,
find out about each other and ultimately to get to know to each
other. Even though many people like watching movies, it
generally does not even make for a good choice on date night
for couples that have been together for a while out of the
similar reasons.
Also, a good tip is to choose locations that have a positive
influence on both partners. If the place chosen has memories of
old relationships or other bad memories, the mood of the
conversation and of the whole night can ruin a start to a great
new relationship. Not only will it add to the first impression
when the mood of a person is down. Even if it is not quite
obvious, the other will pick up the mood at some point during
that first date and who wants his or her first date ruined by
an old memory?
Whichever place will be chosen for a first date, when following
a few simple rules, the first date might be a successful one
and a long-lasting relationship can be
established.
